About Shannon

I ask what has to change before we decide what to build.

I am most useful before a team has decided what to build—or just after everyone realizes the original plan will not survive contact with reality.

For more than 20 years, I have worked across instructional design, technical and professional education, LMS implementation, assessment, workflow design, governance, and delivery. That range taught me to look past the requested asset and ask what actually has to change on the job.

Today I focus on the decisions that make ambitious learning work possible: finding the real performance problem, choosing technology without getting hypnotized by features, putting practical controls around AI, and giving delivery teams a plan they can defend.

The problems I like owning
  • Find the real performance problem
  • Turn evidence into a buildable plan
  • Keep AI inside human controls
  • Choose technology without vendor theater
  • Expose scope before making promises
  • Catch delivery risk while it is still cheap

Tools & platforms

Tools earn their place after the problem is clear.

I am comfortable in the production details, but software is not the strategy. I use the stack that fits the work, the team, and the handoff.
